Biography
I was born in Caraquet N.-B. and in 1988, I left my beautiful little coastal town to move to Toronto.

As far as I can remember, arts always fascinated me and when I left my native ‘’Acadie’’, I felt the urge to explore the artistic side of me and follow my dreams. Once in Toronto, I started my art journey by taking an interior design course. Then, life brought me to Laval city, in Quebec, where I completed this formation.

This did not fulfill my needs; I wanted a way to express myself without barriers, without constraint. I started taking formations in fine arts, and I knew then, that I had found what I was looking for: my very own language to express my creative drive. Since then, I am always seeking new ways to improve and expand my knowledge and competences in art.
En quittant mon Acadie natale pour la grande ville, je ressens un besoin viscéral d’exploiter mon côté artistique et de réaliser mon rêve. Je commence alors une formation en design intérieur, puis en 1989, la vie m’amène à Laval, où je complète cette formation.
Artistic approach
I mainly paint in oil for the richness, the density, and the sensuality of the paint. I also like to use acrylic for all the magnificent textures that can be obtained. I also like exploring other mediums such as encaustic, pastel, ink and mixed media.

The creative process births from a picture, a theme, a photo or an observation. When my idea settles, I then think of the composition. I first do a quick sketch which soon turns into a detailed drawing. I then transfer my drawing to the canvas.
I paint still lives, landscapes, seascapes and portraits. Realism and abstraction may certainly stand alongside each other and the subjects that I paint can vary. My goal is to share a bit of beauty and color from my trips, my day to day life, and my experiences so that at your turn, you can imagine your very own story.

Mon intention est de partager quelques parcelles de mes voyages, mes expériences et ma vie quotidienne pour qu'à votre tour, vous puissiez interpréter votre propre histoire.
Étant toujours en quête d’une pratique artistique sans contrainte et avec une belle liberté d’expression, je commence des formations en arts visuels. Dès les premiers tableaux, j’ai su que j’avais alors trouvé ce que je cherchais; un langage très personnel afin d’exprimer ma pulsion créative et émotionnelle. Depuis, je cherche continuellement à évoluer, à parfaire mes connaissances et à acquérir de nouvelles compétences.
